Herpes Necktie (Dark Blue/Crimson)
HERPES viruses include several families of “omnipresent” infectious agents, a euphemism for “….these babies just won’t go away!” From HSV 1 to Herpes Zoster (Shingles) these nasties can range from very annoying to a downright nightmare. Herpes infections can be latent or active, and are present in a surprisingly high percentage of the population. A vaccine is now available for shingles and is strongly recommended for “seniors.” If you qualify, best to run, not walk!
A back-of-tie "Awareness Note" and a source citation are incorporated in the pattern design, which reads:
"HERPES viruses are an unfriendly family of infectious agents that attack the immune system causing serious, painful and persistent symptoms. Unfortunately this is not a family easily dismissed, as the virus perseveres in the nerves both before and after active infection."
