A-1-Antichymotrypsin Mouse Monoclonal Antibody
Description
Alpha-1-Antichymotrypsin (AACT or ACT) is a protease inhibitor that is proposed to act as an anti-inflammatory agent and control immunologic functions. AACT is expressed in mast cells, endothelial cells, and breast and intestinal epithelial cells. Other studies have also found AACT overexpression in neural tissues of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. The major application of AACT labelling is to identify histiocytes and histiocyte-derived cancer cells. Some reports have found acinar pancreatic and salivary cancers to be stained by α-AACT.
