Intended Use :
The Serum Amyloid A (SAA) Calibrator Set is intended for
use with the SAA Immunoturbidimetric Reagent Kit. It is
strictly for in vitro veterinary research only use as an aid
in equine SAA assay calibration. Components of the
calibration set are available as a kit only.
Calibration Materials Provided & Reagent Description
The reagents supplied in the SAA Calibrator Set are
provided ready to use with assigned concentrations as
listed below:
• 1 x 1.0ml SAA Calibrator (400µg/ml)
• 1 x 1.0ml SAA Calibrator (200µg/ml)
• 1 x 1.0ml SAA Calibrator (100µg/ml)
• 1 x 1.0ml SAA Calibrator (50µg/ml)
• 1 x 1.0ml SAA Calibrator (20µg/ml)
• 1 x 1.0ml SAA Calibrator Blank
Each calibrator is prepared from standardised equine
serum and calibrated to Tridelta’s commercial
Multispecies SAA ELISA kit (Cat No: TP-802).
Warnings and Precautions :
For in vitro veterinary research use only. Follow
universal precautions and handle all components as if
capable of transmitting infectious agents.
Materials required but not provided include:
SAA Immunoturbidimetric REAGENT Kit: (Cat No: TE-501-
RGT).
SAA Immunoturbidimetric CONTROL kit: (Cat No: TE-501-
CON).
An automated chemistry analyser and its requirements
for use.
Calibrator preparation & use :
• Gently mix each calibrator (standard) before use
by inverting the vials several times, avoid air bubbles.
• For each individual laboratory, the stability of
the on-board calibration should be assessed and
determined by running the calibrator and the quality
control materials as unknown samples. Such verification
should be part of each laboratory’s quality control
programme.
• Recalibration is required at least every three
weeks or following the replacement of critical
components, if quality control results are outside the
acceptable limits or if the instrument undergoes any
cleaning or maintenance.
